1. It doesn't matter how different something is, or whether or not you understand it - it deserves love, or if not love, at least respect. After all, we are all made of the same flesh, and we are all in this together.

2. Nothing in life is black and white - moderation is the key to almost everything. Perfection does not lie in the absolute, it lies in balance.

3. When it comes to adaption, the jack of all trades succeeds where the specialist fails. In the long run, it is usually better to be adequate in several things rather than become elite in only one - change is forever, and if your only lifeline is cut, you will have nowhere to go.

4. There is a saying that goes, 'Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it'. Few things are as true. Not learning from mistakes is one of the greatest sins. Open your eyes and your mind and see beyond what you think is true, for the open-minded are those who are blessed with the greatest knowledge.

6. If someone is entirely willing to knowingly bring you to tears for their own gain, they are not a friend to you. No matter how much you love them.

7. Share. It is always wise to share material possessions with others who are in need - life is short, and excess will not be much use to you for long. Share knowledge to those who will accept - you can only gain from it.

9. There is always an exception to a rule, somewhere.

10. Laugh at yourself. Those who take themselves too seriously will become miserable for it.
